otherplaces is an arts research project exploring connections between the experience of sound in everyday life and the sense of place. More specifically, it is concerned with (i) the ways auditory worlds participate in and reflect the various practices that contribute to the experience and understanding of 'place', and (ii) how the inwardly expansive qualities of active and reflective listening practices contribute to the experience and understanding of place in broader (more existential, more ontological) ways. it is constructed through a series of site-specific interventions using field-recordings replayed via mobile technologies.
